Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information is collected when you visit abhinavr.com (the "site"), why it is collected, and what choices you have. The site is the personal portfolio of Abhinav R, based in India. If you have any question about this policy, email abhinavrenjithg@gmail.com.
1. Information you give me
When you use the contact form, you can share your name, email address, phone number (optional), project type and a description of your project. This information is used only to reply to your enquiry and discuss possible work together. It is delivered to my inbox through the form service Web3Forms, or through your own email app if you send the message that way.
If you contact me directly by email, phone or WhatsApp, I receive whatever you choose to share in that message.
2. Information collected automatically
Analytics (only with your consent). If you click "Accept" on the cookie banner, the site loads Google Analytics through Firebase. It sets cookies (such as _ga) and records anonymous usage information like pages visited, approximate location (country or city), device and browser type, and how you arrived at the site. This helps me understand which projects people find useful. If you click "Decline", no analytics scripts or cookies are loaded.
Your consent choice. Your Accept or Decline choice is stored in your browser's local storage so the banner doesn't appear on every visit.
Server logs. The hosting provider (Google Firebase Hosting) may keep standard technical logs, such as IP address, browser type and requested pages, to deliver and secure the site.
3. How your information is used
- To respond to your messages and project enquiries.
- To understand, in aggregate, how the site is used and to improve it (only if you accepted analytics).
- To keep the site secure and prevent spam or abuse.
I do not sell your personal information, and I do not use it for advertising.
4. Third-party services
- Google Firebase Hosting: hosts the site.
- Google Analytics / Firebase Analytics: usage statistics, only after consent.
- Web3Forms: delivers contact form messages by email.
- Google Fonts: may load web fonts.
Each of these services processes data under its own privacy policy. Links to external sites (LinkedIn, GitHub, WhatsApp, live project demos) are not covered by this policy.
5. How long information is kept
Contact messages are kept in my email for as long as needed to handle your enquiry and any resulting work, and then deleted on request. Analytics data is kept according to Google Analytics retention settings (14 months by default).
6. Your choices and rights
- You can change your cookie choice at any time with the Cookie Settings link in the site footer.
- You can ask to see, correct or delete the personal information you have sent me by emailing abhinavrenjithg@gmail.com.
- You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time.
These rights apply as provided under applicable law, including India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
7. Children
This site is not directed at children, and I do not knowingly collect information from children.
8. Security
The site is served only over HTTPS and uses standard security headers. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, but reasonable steps are taken to protect your information.
9. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date.
